You might know me from World’s Largest Wednesday, a TikTok series I started in 2022 that has since amassed more than 7 million views from fellow lovers of unusual roadside attractions.

I’m also the author of Secret Iowa: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure as well as Iowa Supper Clubs, which share the hidden gems and iconic eats from across the state.

So, what’s the “big” deal?

For more than a decade, I’ve blogged about offbeat destinations and hidden gems around the Midwest and beyond on my blog, Olio in Iowa. But I’ve always had a big soft spot for “world’s largest” things.

Whether they’re officially Guinness World Record certified or not, there’s something special about these oversized attractions and the people who create and maintain them.
